Formulae in chapter 9

  • ΔH = H(Products) – H(Reactants)

  • q = mcΔT

  • q = CΔT

  • q(sys) = q(water) + q(calorimeter) + q(rxn/soln)

  • ΔH°(rxn) = Sum of ΔH°(f) of products – Sum ofΔH°(f) of all reactants

  • ΔH°(overall)= ΔH°1 + ΔH°2 + ΔH°3 + ΔH°4 + ΔH°5

  • ΔH(soln) = ΔH(lattice) + ΔH(hyd)
